Séquence nostalgie avec ce titre monstrueux que j'ai eu l'occasion de réécouter l'autre jour: "Jump" de Kriss Kross! Plus de 10 ans après ce morceau me donne toujours autant la pêche!

Chris Kelly (Mack Daddy) & Chris Smith (Daddy Mack) agés à l'époque de 14 et 13 ans sont repérés en 1991 par un Jermaine Dupri qui débute alors sa carrière de producteur. Leur premier album "Totally Krossed Out" est un véritable carton et c'est bien évidement grâce au tube "Jump" qui restera numéro 1 au Hot 100 du Billboard pendant huit semaines! Ce succès les amènera même jusqu'à jouer en première partie de Michael Jackson!

Mais Kriss Kross ce n'est pas seulement un tube, c'est aussi une mode ou comment porter son jean différemment, c'est-à-dire à l'envers! Explication en image avec le clip:

Bon pour étoffer un peu l'article sachez que Kriss Kross ont sorti un dernier album en '96 intitulé 'Young Rich And Dangerous' toujours produit par Jermaine Dupri. Mais l'album a fait un flop malgré les bons singles 'Tonight is the Night' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOBlGCFbfxY) et 'Live and die for Hip-Hop' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpaYjTAtZq0).

Aujourd'hui l'un d'eux à créé son propre label (C.CO. Records) et l'autre a tenté de repercer dans la musique avec un album prévu en 2008 qui n'est finalement jamais sorti!

Au final, encore un exemple de baby stars n'ayant pas percé plus longtemps que leur adolescence!
